Mucking About With QGifer

I kept this really simple with about three seconds of video, small scale at that...............

I've been looking for ages for a GIF Animation tool for Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon with a GUI; they are scarce........ :icon_arrowl: EDIT

The app QGifer seems to do the job pretty nicely. You can cut directly from a video.

With a simple GUI, it gives decent results (better than this), adds text, reverses image, etc, etc

You can find it in the repository of your distro through Synaptic Package Manager or Software Manager if you are lucky.

:D

Nice find Möbius.
I take it this works in Mint 18?

:icon_arrowu: Annoyingly.................not yet!

The benefits of dual booting is astonishing.
Mint 17.3 or Ubuntu 14.10 is still surpassing Mint 18 and 18.1/Ubuntu 16 afaik

(But, what do I know?)

:D

It's been a month or more since I have played around with the sys I have Mint 18 on.
It was having problems so I do have Mint 17 I just haven't gotten around to re-doing it as of yet.

:icon_arrowu: I keep on updating Mint 18 but barely use it as of yet. It has some nice surprises in it and it seems to work better out of the box than 17.3, but it seems more restricted than 17.3, as loads familiar stuff just wont work for one reason or another.

But, it's early days yet; I intend to migrate to it once it has matured for a while longer and folks have developed the apps further, being the freeloader I am. :D

I'm even weary of updating this dual boot systems 18, to 18.1 for the moment, as I have heard on the forums that people have run into difficulties doing so.

What kind of problem/s are you getting?
Just curious, I’m no adept at Linux yet.

 Hmmm... maybe I should stick with Cinnamon until 18 gets its stuff properly together.

I was using Mint 18 and then they had an update for 18.1 and things started to freeze up.
I really believe it was caused by the keyboard.
You know the idiot using it...

I just started playing with different Linux OS's last year.
Out of the different ones I have tried I really like Zorn, but then that's just me.
I figuring things out the hard way.

I was poking around and ended up here after a year or so.

Linux Mint 18.3 has certainly come on leaps and bounds since.

To be honest, I am torn between 17.3 and 18.3 camps now.

Both have their benefits and I can only recall some slight mishaps between both, all to do with dodgy kernels. Not a problem.......

I'm fairly certain that Microsoft is no longer an option in my book, although, I keep an eye on it and still meddle with Paint.NET which I still love dearly. I do wish the gimps would overhaul Gimp.

Peace
:D

Thanks for the update Mobius I still have my old laptop that I wanted to put ether Zorn of Mint and think I'll go with the Mint 18.3.
Maybe then I'll be able to get the damn Wi-Fi to work.
