RAR Password Unlocker 4.3

I've been digging around this program for awhile now trying to find the part that checks to see if it is registered (in order to disable or alter it), but I am at a loss. I've ran it through a debugger and disassembler as well as went though every registry entry pertaining to it, I just don't know where to look or what exactly I'm looking for. Any tips or pointers would be appreciated.

It's so strange to have worked on computers for years and have the people around you think you're some kind of genius with them, yet be a complete novice with no idea where to begin. I pretty much only know how to repair them, and do basic IT work.

What type of software is it? What software to be exact?

What protection is it using? that's the first thing you should look for!

I think it just has a key check, but I have no clue how to figure out if it has protection nor what it uses.

No that's the activation method, not the Protection.

How would I go about determining the protection? (Sorry I'm so noob.)

There is specific tools you can use to help you detect there protection.
But if your not experienced in Reverse Engineering and the different protections technique don't bother

How do you suggest I go about learning then? And what are the tools called just out of curiosity.
