[Help] project

Hi all,

i just need some help from programmers/developers. I am a Computer Science engg: student,for next semester we have a mini-project(either .net/java/php)

So I got approval for a topic "Smart X web" which is a software supporting remote access to a computer.

i am noob at programming languages, never coded anything.
1.So From where i can start learning .net and complete this project.
is there an sites/tutorials which u know :?
2.what is differ b/w asp.net or vb.net. I think we r doing it in asp (may be a foolish question).
3.Which application(windows) should i download for writing source code ?

OR

Should i go for a course and study the project instead of above mentioned questions ?

I read the project, and its not as easy as you think.
you said "i am noob at programming languages, never coded anything." therefor I think its impossible for you to do it :)

AJ, I think you have bitten off WAY more than you can chew with this one. As CC points out, you have no coding experience to draw on and are therefore setting yourself up to fail in a big way. :confused:

Products such as PCAnywhere took literally millions of man hours in development over the past two decades to get where they are today. If this sort of thing was easy, everyone would have something similar to offer the market.

Even if you were to complete a thorough programming course, this is not the sort of project you attack as a first effort. I would definitely opt out of this one.
